HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C., Oct. 30, 2025 — This fall, the stage at the HHPS Main Street Theater transforms into a vibrant space of humor, heart and discovery when Lean Ensemble Theater opens its production of The Roommate on Friday, Oct. 31. The show runs through Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025.
Written by Jen Silverman and directed by Whitaker Gannon, the play stars Aleisha Force and Kerrie Seymour in a comedic yet moving exploration of unexpected friendships. Sharon, newly single and seeking stability, brings home a housemate, Robyn. Their relationship becomes a candid, funny and deeply human journey through identity, morality and the dreams of reinvention.
The production takes place at HHPS Main Street Theater at 3000 Main Street, Hilton Head Island, and runs approximately 100 minutes with no intermission. Special talk‑backs with cast and production team members will follow the performances on Nov. 1, 2, 7 and 9. In partnership with the Island Writers Network, the theater will also showcase original poetry in the lobby throughout the run, connecting the show’s themes of self‑expression and unexpected connection with local writers.
This production is part of Lean Ensemble Theater’s 2025‑26 season of bold, relevant work in the Lowcountry, continuing its mission to bring compelling theatre to Hilton Head Island.
